Product certifications provide reliable environmental data that can be used in tenders, contracts and projects with ESG and circular economy requirements.
Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) PROFILES and GRATINGS
M.M. has obtained the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD – Environmental Product Declaration) for 40 geometries of structural pultruded profiles and 52 configurations of FRP – fiberglass gratings, following a technical process carried out in accordance with the international standards EN 15804 and ISO 14025.
The certification covers profiles with both open and closed geometric cross-sections, manufactured through pultrusion, as well as a wide range of fiberglass grating configurations. Products intended for industrial and infrastructure applications, often in contexts characterized by complex environmental conditions.
M.M. carried out the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA – Life Cycle Assessment) in collaboration with the sustainability team at Gesteco, which handled the collection and modeling of environmental data across the entire product life cycle, from raw material sourcing to end-of-life management.
The EPD provides objective, verified environmental data on more than 30 indicators, including greenhouse gas emissions, energy and water consumption, waste generation and the use of natural resources. Structured information that ensures greater transparency in production processes and serves as a technical tool to support sustainable design and design choices.
The documents were independently verified by DNV Business Assurance Italy S.r.l. and officially registered on the EPD International portal.
Environmental Product Declarations provide concrete support in contexts requiring verifiable environmental documentation, such as public tenders, contracts or projects with specific performance and environmental requirements.
Recyclability mark
M.M. has obtained the ecolabel for its products issued by CSI, certifying the recyclability of its products. A recognition that testifies to the company’s commitment to improving the environmental impact associated with the use of its products, as well as to simplifying the management of processing waste, with clear benefits in terms of efficiency and cost savings.
The CSI marks for recyclable materials certify compliance with the European standard EN 13430, relating to packaging, transposed by Directive 94/62/EC and the Italian Environmental Code. This certification can also be applied to products intended for sectors other than packaging – such as construction, transport, furniture, agriculture and horticulture – provided they are made from the same materials.
Thanks to this process, M.M. has been able to qualify certain powders resulting from its manufacturing process as by-products, which can then be reused in new production blends, in line with circular economy principles.
