THICKNESS REDUCTION USING A CALIBRATING MACHINE: UNIFORMITY AND PRECISION
Reducing the thickness of gratings allows for maximum product customization to meet customer needs when non-standard panel heights are required. Calibrating fibreglass – FRP panels consists of a mechanical surface-removal process aimed at achieving a controlled reduction in thickness.
This process is carried out using a calibrating machine, which produces a uniform surface across the entire panel area. In addition to ensuring a consistent finish, this process is also a preparatory step for subsequent treatments, such as painting or quartz coating.
INSTALLING STEP NOSING SYSTEMS TO INCREASE SAFETY LEVELS
The use of fibreglass – FRP step nosing is a simple yet highly effective and durable solution for increasing the safety of stairs, walkways and work platforms, improving the visibility of the tread and reducing the risk of slipping, even in critical environmental conditions such as poor lighting or the presence of slippery substances.
The step nosing is installed by precisely milling the step to create a housing for the horizontal side of the profile. The profile is made of yellow FRP, with a quartz-treated surface to ensure anti-slip properties. It is fixed using stainless steel through-bolts, ensuring long-term stability and strength.

EDGING OF FRP PANELS: SAFETY AND STRENGTH
With the edging (or re-edging) of gratings, the edges of the panels are finished by eliminating the so-called “comb-tooth” mesh edge, improving their aesthetic appearance. Edging is carried out by applying a grating bearing bar, glued or mechanically fixed to the grating element being finished, to close the “comb-tooth” section.
