Gestione dei rifiuti per applicazioni ambientali

M.M. offers a complete range of FRP – Fibreglass Reinforced Polymer – gratings and structural work designed to ensure maximum operator safety in waste treatment plants.

Safe, durable structures for waste treatment plants

M.M. products are used to build permanent means of access to machinery, tanks and vessels:

  • Walking surfaces, platforms, walkways
  • Stairways and vertical ladders
  • Safety parapets for collection tanksarapetti di sicurezza per vasche di raccolta
  • Drainage channel coversi di scolo

FRP gratings offer high resistance to chemical agents and wear, ensuring certified anti-slip safety (classes R10 to R13, in accordance with DIN 51130), even in adverse conditions such as wet surfaces or the presence of oily substances.

Stairways, walkways and work platforms compliant with EN ISO 14122 are made with FRP profiles and gratings, with stainless steel accessories. For greater chemical resistance, gratings are also available in isophthalic and vinylester resin.

Applications in different waste treatment plants

M.M.’s FRP solutions are ideal for various types of plants:

  • Waste recovery and sorting plants

These plants separate the different materials contained in waste, dividing them into recyclable fractions and waste for disposal. They are divided into mechanical-biological separation plants, for undifferentiated waste, and dry fraction recovery plants, which process materials such as plastic, paper, glass and metal for recycling.

  • Composting and bio-stabilisation plants

These plants reduce the environmental impact of organic waste. In composting plants, the organic fraction of waste is transformed into compost, while in bio-stabilisation plants, the wet fraction of undifferentiated waste is treated.

  • Industrial waste management plants

These plants treat hazardous and non-hazardous special waste from industrial activities. Operations include the sorting and physical-chemical treatment of solid waste and sludge, as well as the inertisation of waste containing heavy metals to ensure safe disposal. Among this type of plant, WEEE treatment plants deserve particular mention, as they handle the collection, sorting and disposal of electronic devices that have reached the end of their life.

  • Waste-to-energy plants

Waste-to-energy plants convert non-recyclable waste into energy, harnessing the heat of combustion to produce electricity or district heating. This process reduces the volume of waste sent for disposal and recovers energy from materials that would otherwise be unusable.

  • Controlled landfills

Landfills, divided into inert, non-hazardous and hazardous waste, represent the last option for non-recoverable waste. Modern facilities are designed to minimise environmental impact, including systems for collecting the biogas produced by the decomposition of waste, which can be reused to generate energy.

  • Biomass power plants

These plants generate energy from organic materials. Biomass is converted into energy through processes such as combustion, pyrolysis and gasification, contributing to renewable energy production and the reduction of CO2 emissions.
