Thanks to their insulating properties and permeability to electromagnetic waves, M.M.’s FRP products are in demand in the telecommunications sector, especially for telecommunications networks such as telephone networks, internet networks, radio and TV.

M.M.’s FRP gratings and pultruded profiles can be used for:

  • the construction of radio-transparent towers or antenna bases;
  • support structures such as walkways with parapets, gangways and stairs;
  • covering ducts and manholes for connecting and inspecting electrical, telephone and fibre-optic networks and their associated equipment;
  • screening fences for substations, allowing the installation to be fully integrated into the surrounding environment;
  • data centre flooring with antistatic gratings, either in the conductive (CFR) version or with an ESD LINE finish applied.

Composite manhole covers for telecommunications infrastructure

The permeability to electromagnetic waves of M.M.’s FRP manhole covers allows the signal to pass through in the case of buried antennas. They are also useful to telecommunications infrastructure operators for tracking network locations using RFID systems. This speeds up maintenance operations, avoiding unnecessary waste and inconvenience.
