Compliance verification tests with EN 14122-1,2,3,4 were carried out through internal testing.
UNI EN ISO 14122 is a series of European and international standards defining the safety requirements for *permanent means of access* to machinery, i.e. fixed structures enabling operators to:
- go up/down
- reach maintenance or inspection points
- move safely around or above the machine
The four parts cover different areas:
| Part | Title (summary) | Scope |
| 14122-1 | General requirements for the choice of means of access | Criteria for deciding whether to use step ladders, rung ladders, walkways, etc.; requirements common to all means of access. |
| 14122-2 | Working platforms and walkways | Minimum dimensions, strength, guards, edges, parapets. |
| 14122-3 | Stairs, stepladders and parapets | Rise and going measurements, permitted inclinations, handrails, safety clearances. |
| 14122-4 | Fixed ladders | Specific requirements for vertical ladders, safety cages, resting platforms. |
“Compliance verification” means checking that ladders, walkways, parapets and similar elements meet all the requirements of those four parts.
It is not a “testing” standard as such, but a technical design and installation standard: verification consists of measuring and comparing real data with the indicated values and conditions.
