Certificates for applications are documents that enable the use of M.M. FRP gratings and profiles in regulated, high-criticality sectors, demonstrating compliance with technical, safety and hygiene/sanitary requirements.
CERTIFICATES FOR THE RAILWAY SECTOR
Thanks to obtaining CE marking, M.M.’s FRP profiles have become a qualified Deutsche Bahn (DB) product: DB has granted M.M. the HPQ, “Herstellerbezogene Produktqualifikation” (manufacturer-related product qualification), for a wide range of gratings and profiles.
HPQ is a mandatory qualification process that ensures that only manufacturers capable of supplying railway components compliant with safety, quality and reliability standards can supply Deutsche Bahn.
It is required for the production of products relevant to railway safety.
How does the process work?
- Technical documentation: the manufacturer submits information on products, processes, internal organization, production facilities, certifications (e.g. ISO), etc.
- On-site audit: Deutsche Bahn representatives carry out an inspection visit at the company to verify that production processes comply with the required standards. Samples are selected for analysis.
- Laboratory testing: M.M. gratings and profiles are examined at the accredited laboratory (ISO/IEC 17025) SKZ.
- Operational test: an operational test (Betriebsversuch) is required before a preliminary qualification is issued.
HPQ is valid for 3 years, and an extension can be requested if the requirements remain unchanged and no quality issues arise.
HPQ is a technical tool used to support approval by the EBA (Eisenbahn-Bundesamt), the German federal authority responsible for railway safety, which is tasked with approving, monitoring and overseeing rolling stock, infrastructure and railway processes. HPQ is a preventive measure to ensure “quality constancy” in the production of critical railway components, contributing to the safety objectives pursued by the EBA.
Checks are carried out annually.
In essence, holding HPQ certification means that the manufacturer is recognized by Deutsche Bahn as capable of supplying safe and compliant railway components.
Rely on M.M. for your railway infrastructure projects.
Attestations of suitability for direct contact with drinking water
The Sanitary Conformity Statement (ACS) is an official mark issued by the French Directorate General for Health, following tests prescribed by accredited laboratories, in compliance with Directive (EU) 2020/2184 on the quality of water intended for human consumption. Raw materials, process additives and reaction promoters used by M.M. are included in the positive list under Regulation (EU) 10/2011 on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.
The Italian Ministry of Health has declared M.M. products compliant with Ministerial Decree (D.M.) 174/2004 concerning materials and articles that may be used in fixed systems for the collection, treatment, conveyance and distribution of water intended for human consumption, and has authorized their use.
The Polish National Institute of Public Health – National Institute of Hygiene has issued M.M. with the hygiene certification, attesting to the sanitary compliance of M.M. gratings and profiles, which can therefore be used in direct contact with drinking water.
