Objectives
Our partner, SOVAL (FR), had a client seeking class D400 covers to be installed on sanitary manholes in a site located near the sea. In addition to requiring a material resistant to the corrosive marine environment, the client needed a product capable of effectively containing hydrogen sulphide (H2S) emissions, a particularly important aspect considering the area’s proximity to a tourist destination.
Solution
With the support and mediation of SOVAL, M.M met the client’s demands by supplying more than 30 round manhole covers with a 600mm opening in FRP, with class D400 certification under UNI EN 124-5:2015. Besides providing an optimal seal against hydrogen sulphide emissions, the product was also appreciated by the client for its practical opening and lifting system, thanks to a special key and hinge mechanism allowing the lid to be held open at 120°.
