Objectives
It was necessary to cover the maintenance pit with a heavy load resistant grating that needed to be easy to shape, to remove and moreover insulating and antiskid.
Solution
After the evaluation of the customer’s needs, M.M.’s technical department selected the most suitable grating individuating the type SCH52/100C which was able to support the required loads. The captivating part of the design was the study of every single piece, different from one another in size, shape and cutting. Each piece was conditioned to existing areas and supports. In case of inspection procedures, every piece could be easily removed by means of a passkey. The Customer has mainly chosen FRP gratings for their insulating and antiskid properties.
