M.M. fibreglass gratings and structures and their related accessories are especially suited for use on ships and boats in general. The lightness of the material is a crucial factor that must be taken into account in the design and construction of ships of noteworthy size. The resistance of M.M. gratings to brackish environments – compared to similar products made of other materials – makes them an essential element in the shipbuilding sector. It should be also noted that FRP gratings are more economically competitive than AISI 316 stainless steel gratings. To ensure maximum safety on board, in the areas where high fire resistance is required according to ship registers, M.M. provides molded gratings in phenolic resin classified as providing L2 structural fire integrity according to ASTM F3059 standard (Standard Specification for Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Gratings Used in Marine Construction and Shipbuilding). The properties of our gratings are certified by Bureau Veritas.
